appeal of intellectual
titled "Haiti needs the support of the whole world" intellectuals have launched an appeal addressed to the developed countries, which has been published by the British newspaper The Guardian. The text reads as follows: In the coming years in much of Haiti rebuild its economy and restructured. In response to the earthquake last year the country had been promised a previously unprecedented sum for reconstruction. It is now more than ever necessary that Haiti is run by an administration that is honest and in the interest of the people is without regard for the foreign states or Companies are brought to the fore. 2004, the United States, France and Canada combined with Haitian business leaders and soldiers of the ousted Haitian army overthrew the last government which had actually worked for the people's will: the then ruling party, Fanmi Lavalas, was elected with about 75 percent of the vote. Last November, the same powers as it was then put through illegal elections and ruled out the participation of Lavalas Fanmit. Only 23 percent of Haitian voters cast their votes, not even a third of those citizens who had gone to the presidential election before.
attacked in recent weeks the U.S. and its supporters restraint in interpreting the results of the first election round one. The election was overshadowed by counterfeiting, not only unclear and unrepresentative, its result was also illegal. If the second round of the election as planned on 20 Held in March, is already clear that the selection of the President was not constitutionally adopted by the citizens, but rather in terms of power politics of those states, the polls financed and manipulated. At the same time granted to these forces exert power over Haiti, the former dictator Jean-Claude Duvalier's return, while the entry of the twice elected former president and Fanmi Lavalas party leader- was not Jean-Bertrand Aristide supported. These companies are supported by Haitian forces have made it clear that they Aristide's return after 20 do not tolerate March. They call for Aristide to even after a certain period may enter for the new, obedient government, which should lead the reconstruction, firmly in the saddle.
We, the undersigned, urge the Haitian government to provide security measures for the immediate return of Aristide. By the international community, we expect support, not to fight such efforts.
We call on the Haitian government, which for 20 March cancel scheduled runoff election, and as soon as possible a whole new round of the election - without excluding or intervention - to be set.
